Watched two really great shows tonight - both obtained from the local library system.
The first was a documentary called "Food Matters" - basically talking about how eating the right foods will allow your body to heal itself. It's really good and I would recommend it to anyone who eats and has a body. Those of you readers who don't have a body ... well, don't bother.
The other was an hour-long documentary called "the Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil". Basically, when the U.S.S.R. collapsed, Cuba was cut off from most of it's oil supplies ... and they had to react quickly to feed themselves. They did it by converting mostly to organic, non oil-dependant, labour-intensive methods. It's a hopeful documentary. I means that perhaps we can adapt to a post-oil world after all.
I recommend both.
