Relationships

Just a couple of comments from someone who has a great husband and a wonderful marriage:

- if you regularly call your spouse "ass", "asshole", "jerk", "bitch" or any other derogatory name - whether to their face or just amongst your friends - you have a problem

- if you'd rather spend time with your friends than your spouse - you have a problem

- if you're staying together because you think you can't afford to NOT stay together - you have a problem

- if you don't respect your spouse or your spouse doesn't respect you - you have a problem.

It is NOT okay to call each other names - even jokingly.  It is not okay to stay together for the kids (the kids won't get anything out of that at all!).  It is MUCH better to be alone than to be with someone who doesn't respect you.

Really ... it's okay to be alone, it's okay not to be married, and it's okay to find someone who actually likes you.

I've just heard people lately commenting about their partners in such negative ways.  It's sad, it's degrading, and it isn't right for anyone concerned.

And remember ... children have to come first - or they will become one of the majority of screwed-up people in the world.
